With an impending move and our current house undergoing renovations, we didn't have many options for creating a nursery for our third child. Our other children share a "cozy" room (yes, that is code for small), but it works nicely for them and they even say they want to continue to share a bedroom in our next house. However, we were still left with "where are we going to put this new baby?"
We always had a bassinet or play yard in our room for our babies during the first few months anyway, so we decided to create a "nook" totally dedicated to our #3. I had such an urge to design a special space for baby, so this satisfied my need to nest. In designing the nook, I realized you really don't need to have a large, elaborate space to have a beautiful and efficient nursery for your baby. Here is what I did!

Sheep Mobile: Contacted a vendor from a lovely street market near DC, that crochets beautiful toys. I asked if she could make me 5 mini versions of her sheep, 4 white, 1 black. She did a beautiful job on my custom request. I then created a mobile using the inner hoop of an embroidery hoop and wrapped it in yarn. Super easy!

Rug: Made using a Pinterest Tutorial. It's just painter's dropcloth and acrylic paint. I made a stencil for the swiss cross/plus signs an painted them on. I used an anti-slip rug pad underneath.
Rolling 3 Tier Cart: From Ikea. I got the gray, but also comes in a nice blue. It's metal and is perfect for storing all of baby's little items and cloth diapers.
Basket under Cradle: From TJ Maxx. A great storage solution for blankets and swaddles!

Handmade Quilt: Made using a modified Pinterest Tutorial. Instead of using pre-quilted fabric, I used a soft cotton fabric and cotton batting, sewed edges together, then followed the idea of the tutorial. Each line is HAND STITCHED! I love how it turned out and is such a special touch!
